Meet Wanda Ranson
Wanda Ranson has spent most of her life working with flowers. She has worked at both garden centres and florists shops and has always been inspired by wedding designs. After helping a friend with her daughter’s wedding, Wanda realized that this was the perfect role for her!
Big changes around town created a need for a floral designer specializing in weddings and events. “I wanted to be a bigger part in the creation of these special celebrations. It's a couples' beginning. It's about life and love and I knew I had something great to offer,” she explains.
A forever romantic, Wanda admits she loves 'love'. Being an integral part of these memorable moments is unbelievably rewarding. “This has offered me the opportunity to get to know couples interests, personalities and dreams. There is nothing like the look on a brides' delighted face when she sees her bouquet and risks her makeup with happy tears," she explains. “I am extremely proud of the individualized customer service and attention to every detail that I offer. I love what I do!”
Wanda notes that Williams Lake has been her home for over 22 years and that it is a community she’s happy to be a part of. “I have a great sense of belonging and get incredible support from so many! I feel a small town connection to the businesses and schools and have watched so many families grow up here. Even at a first meeting, there is always a connection. Many of today's brides and grooms went to school with my own daughters."
When Wanda is not building dream weddings, she is usually spending her free time with her children and grandchildren. “I rejuvenate by getting out in the fresh air. Williams Lake and area offers great trails for hiking and biking. The lakes, rivers, forests and mountains are all there to explore.”
Wanda has coffee bistro love for The Gecko Tree and the Bean Counter Bistro & Coffee Bar. She explains that small town friendliness and big time service are combined with all the city fashion shopping you need at Alexander Clothing, Jewellery & Gifts and 'BFF'. For an outing, The Rusty Bucket is just down the road. Wanda tips her hat to Red Shreds Bike & Board Shed for their friendly helpful shop and all the community work that they do.
