Meet Sue Lachance
Sue Lachance has lived in Williams Lake since 1981 and believes that small towns “are the backbone of our country.” She has a special affinity for her own small town because “it is an oasis in the Central Interior and offers an incredible opportunity to be part of a unique lifestyle that exists nowhere else.”
Entrepreneurship was part of Sue’s heritage, so it was probably inevitable that she would one day own her own business. When she opened New World Coffee and Tea House in 2009, her goal was to marry small town charm with big city flair and to serve real, expertly prepared food. The restaurant employs a Red Seal chef who cooks almost everything from scratch. New World Coffee and Tea also serves over 60 varieties of tea and coffee, making it the only restaurant of its kind in the Cariboo interior.
Naturally, Sue spends a lot of time at the restaurant but she also makes it a point to take time to volunteer. She spent a decade as the chairman of the Communities in Bloom Program and has a real passion for making Williams Lake a beautiful place to live. “Williams Lake is a very pretty town,” she remarks, and she is pleased with all of the measures that the city has taken to beautify over the years. “We have many beautiful murals, gardens, hanging baskets, statues,” she says, and is proud of the awards that the City has won through the Communities in Bloom program. “It’s a very attractive place for visitors.”
Relaxing. Warm. Unique.
New World Coffee and Tea House is the only place in Williams Lake where can you find 60 varieties of teas and organic coffees all in one location. Enjoy one when you visit for breakfast, lunch or dessert. You can even choose a harder beverage if you really want to kick back and relax. This family owned-and-operated restaurant is known for its signature house raspberry vinaigrette and even roasts its own turkey. Stop by for coffee or a smoothie or try one of Red Seal Chef Brice O’Neill’s delectable breakfast or lunch dishes and see why people in Williams Lake are talking about New World Coffee and Tea House. Watch for New World Coffee & Tea House’s brand new dinner service beginning on May 1, 2015!
The New World Coffee and Tea House is a member of the Williams Lake Chamber of Commerce and the 2010 winner of the Chamber of Commerce Food Services Award.
