Meet Mark Savard
Mark Savard has always preferred the open expanses of the outdoors over the big buildings and cramped spaces of the big city. The outdoors is in his blood, and he's never given any thought to living anywhere but here. What more could you ask for than so much blue sky and so many places to play outside? "We are close to forest and trails," Mark says, and adds that over the years Williams Lake has become a destination for outdoor recreational opportunities such as mountain biking.
As the owner of Red Shreds Bike and Board Shed since 1988, Mark is thrilled to have played a part in the development of local sports like mountain biking. It has also given him many opportunities to give back to the community that he has lived most of his life in. "I want to make Williams Lake the best possible place to want to LIVE," Mark says. And for him, nothing says "living" like getting out on the slopes or trails.
If there is one thing that gets Mark pumped up besides tearing up the trails or slopes, its sharing that passion for outdoor adventure with others. "Lets pump it up and get people stoked!" Mark is fond of saying. Whatever the season, Mark is ready to show locals how to have a good time outside.
